Discover Corn N' Crab

Walking into Corn N' Crab feels like stepping into one of those neighborhood seafood spots people whisper about when they want something messy, flavorful, and worth the drive. Tucked inside a small plaza at 21013 Sherman Way #3, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States, this casual seafood boil joint doesn’t try to be fancy, and that’s exactly the point. The vibe is relaxed, the tables are meant for cracking shells, and the food comes out hot, saucy, and unapologetically bold.

The menu leans hard into Cajun-style seafood boils, with options that make decision-making a serious commitment. Snow crab legs, king crab, shrimp, crawfish, clams, and mussels are all laid out clearly, and you choose your seasoning, spice level, and extras. From personal experience, the garlic butter Cajun blend is where things really shine. It’s rich without being greasy, layered with spices that hit gradually rather than all at once. That balance isn’t accidental. According to culinary research from organizations like the National Restaurant Association, layered seasoning profiles increase perceived flavor quality and customer satisfaction, which explains why so many reviews mention consistency as a strong point here.

Watching the kitchen work is part of the appeal. Orders are prepared fresh, bags are sealed with sauces tossed evenly, and everything comes out steaming. I once waited alongside a family who ordered multiple combo bags, and despite the rush, nothing felt rushed. That kind of workflow reflects a process used in many high-performing casual dining kitchens: batch prep of base ingredients combined with made-to-order assembly. It’s efficient and keeps quality steady, even during peak hours.

What really stands out is how approachable the staff makes the experience, especially for first-timers. If you’re unsure how spicy extra hot really is, they’ll explain it honestly. If you’re splitting a bag, they’ll suggest portion sizes that actually make sense. That transparency builds trust, something food safety experts from the FDA often highlight as key to positive dining experiences. You can tell this place relies on repeat customers, not one-time hype.

The reviews back that up. Locals consistently mention generous portions, fair pricing, and flavors that don’t fade over time. One regular I spoke with said they drive across the Valley just for the crab legs, because the quality holds up compared to more expensive seafood spots. That says a lot, especially when seafood prices fluctuate due to supply chain issues and seasonal availability. While Corn N' Crab doesn’t advertise sourcing details publicly, the freshness and texture suggest reputable distributors, which aligns with industry standards recommended by groups like Seafood Watch.

Beyond boils, the menu also includes fried baskets, corn, potatoes, sausage, and sides that soak up sauce beautifully. The corn, in particular, is a sleeper hit. It absorbs seasoning like a sponge and often becomes the most fought-over item at the table. Drinks are simple, non-alcoholic, and designed to cool things down when the spice creeps up.

There are some limitations worth noting. Seating is functional rather than spacious, and during busy evenings, wait times can stretch a bit. Parking in the plaza can also be tight. Still, those minor inconveniences feel manageable when the food delivers this consistently.

Corn N' Crab fits squarely into the category of places you recommend when someone asks for real comfort seafood. It’s not about white tablecloths or complicated plating. It’s about cracking shells, licking fingers, and leaving full. The location in Canoga Park makes it accessible, the menu keeps things focused, and the steady stream of positive reviews suggests it’s doing exactly what it set out to do-serve bold seafood that people come back for.

  • Brought my mother here and this spot became one of our favorite dine ins. The seafood is delicious, juicy and well marinated with the right spices. The prices are reasonable. Simply finger licking. Get ready to get your moneys worth. Allison, our server was very welcoming and professional. Compliments to the chef.

  • I came here on Mother’s Day with my family and it was a long wait but worth it. I ordered the Small Chicken Strip Basket and the 1/2 of Shrimp with 1 Corn, 2 Potatoes, and 4 pieces of Sausage with the House Mix sauce which is a mixture of Cajun, Garlic, and Lemon Pepper! It was a lot of food and filled me up. The food was very delicious, cooked well, and seasoned very well! The best Cajun food I had in a while. The staff were very nice! I’d definitely visit again and shout out to Corn n Crab for adding my food art to their Instagram story the same day! Thanks and see you soon

  • I had always wanted to come here to eat. It was so delicious and fresh. Most wonderful meal that I have had in a long time. The only thing it took them for ever to bring the food out. Me and my friend where starving and wanted to eat. It took 45 minutes for them to bring the food out for us. But otherwise the food was amazing. !!

  • Updated : Second time for me here. Took my BFF here for her first time trying this place out. We ordered 2 bags of each 1 pound of whole shrimps with authentic Cajun flavor in mild spicy level and lemon pepper in spicy. They were both not spicy (not to our level of spiciness). The flavors on both were so good and rich! We both think this place is UNDERRATED! (better than the place where you had to sit and wait for your turn to be seated & order, then eat (you guess which place I mean?? LOL) with less crowd and no waiting to be seated. The baggies came out with a lot of sauce the way we liked it! Price wise, it's somewhat similar. The place is clean.. organized and well maintained. The shrimps looked bigger and fresher, too! My BFF was impressed with this place. --------------------------- My first time here, I dined alone. Ordered 1/2 pound of aithentic cajun whole shrimps and Thai Ice Tea with boba (overly sweetened ) I'd give this place more visits to try other flavors of their shrimps. I'm not really into crabs or mussels/clams etc. So I couldn't comment or tell you about those dishes! Service was great by the waitress; Madison. She was relaxed, friendly and made me feel welcomed and appreciated. There were plenty of parking spaces. It shared the large parking lot with Domino's pizza, an Asian market, CVS etc. So it is very convenient! Minus the needing to check in and then wait around to be called when there is a table available for us! I recommend for seafood lovers to check this place out, at least once so you can have other options that may be closer to your home in SFV!

  • There was no wait so that was a good start. Was seated near a group- family of ~five with two loud kids. Apart from that, I ordered a seafood bag. I don’t know what spicy is considered now but I asked for it and there was no spice, the sauce was good tho. The calamari was a little too salty and I couldn’t finish them. The shrimp was overcooked and stuck to the shell. I enjoyed it overall but I don’t know if this would be my first pick for seafood boil. Maybe when I’m old enough to drink I’ll come back lol.

  • One of the best in the Boiling business. Their Louisiana based seasoning is top notch, though at times, can be very salty. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive. This is a great place to have some boiled shellfish and a nice cold brew. But, in contrast, I've ordered pickup during lunch time and have not been disappointed. Their fried rice is a fantastic side dish, make it extra with a little garnish of their house sauce. That sauce is everything. I've always ordered the fried Calamari as an appetizer while dining in, and believe it is the perfect starter. I also had the pleasure of trying their buffalo wings and am astonished at how they get wings done better than your typical wing joint. I don't believe you'll be disappointed here, unless it's one of their saltier days.
